I am not stone.

I’ve been so good. I hadn’t bought a pattern in nearly two months. And today, I totally blew it. All adorable, none actually necessary. And, Simplicity 4422 is a Barbie wardrobe pattern. My kids don’t play with Barbies, and while I cherish my remaining dolls, I have no intention of adding to their wardrobe. But how could I leave it? >_<

  1. *hugs* I do it too – just…let yourself ‘love’

It is NOT ‘hording’ btw – it is an appreciation of design and a desire to share your unique sense of style and function…

LOL. You know, you just have to look at it the other way: Don’t be disappointed in yourself. Remember: You are an artist. You are passionate. You can’t help yourself. That makes you so .. artistic. *grin*

    Does that help?

  3. I would have “rescued” the doll pattern too.

    • Yeah, how could I leave it? It’s a good thing I don’t have the old original Barbie I used to play with at my Grandma’s as a kid anymore (the one with the striped bathing suit). Otherwise I might have to make her a wardrobe.

  4. Its keeping historically significant items safe for future generations.Yeah….hubby kinda grinned when i said that too 🙂

  5. Adoption is an admirable thing.

  6. These lovely old patterns need to be preserved! You’re a preservationist!

  7. I totally understand why you couldn’t leave the Barbie clothes pattern behind!

Ha ha oh my goodness you had me giggling! Well no one’s perfect and you did well and I’m sure you’ll continue to restrain so no point beating yourself up about it and I’m sure you’ll need that Barbie pattern for something….

  9. Heh…I am always telling myself that I don’t need anymore patterns, but then I get to the thrift store and oh gosh, they look so lonely and nobody will appreciate them as much as I will…

Who would want to be stone, anyway?

  10. I just picked up that Simplicity on the far left (the long golden gown), and I saw that Nettie (Sown Brooklyn) just bought it too. If all 3 of us make it, we’ll have to have a virtual runway show.
